An example of H.H. Dr Athavale’s Spiritual Love (Priti) for humanity
On the SSRF website there is an article that discusses the pros and cons of burying versus cremating as a funeral practice for the dead. When the article was written, the benefits of cremation were given from the viewpoint when all the aspects of rites as per the Holy texts were adhered to, such as recitation of mantras, certain rituals, proper funeral pyre, etc. Recently a seeker brought to our attention that if someone overseas wants to be cremated, the only option they have is to be cremated in a crematorium, which is unlike how the funeral pyre ritual is meant to be conducted. In such crematoriums there are no rituals conducted or recitation of mantras or understanding of how such mantras can help a subtle body its onward journey in the afterlife.
I mentioned this observation to His Holiness Dr Athavale on 26 Mar 2015. From a spiritual perspective, in order to facilitate the onward journey of the subtle body of the deceased in the afterlife and to improve the spiritual impact on the environment, H.H. Dr Athavale gave the following subtle readings about the various popular funeral methods:
Then H.H. Dr Athavale paused and on His own accord said, “How can we help the subtle bodies of the deceased whose funerals are conducted in crematoriums so that they gain the spiritual benefit of the mantras that are to be said during the various last rites?” Then He guided that we should upload the required mantras on the SSRF website so that everyone can gain access to them. This would in turn help those who have no choice but to opt for a funeral in a crematorium in foreign countries, to get the benefit of the spiritual energy from the mantras.”
As this would entail the studio cost of recording and editing the audio along with 4-5 seekers’ time through the production, I asked if we should charge a nominal fee for the mantras posted on the website.
To this He said, “No, give it to society free-of-charge; we do not have any copyright on these mantras.”
While H.H. Dr Athavale was speaking, my spiritual emotion (bhāv) got awakened. I felt His spiritual love (Prīti) or unconditional love for society. H.H. Dr Athavale is constantly thinking of how people from all over the world can gain access to spiritual knowledge so that it can help alleviate suffering caused due to spiritual distress. I came to Him with an observation, and He analysed the issue immediately at a spiritual level and also found a spiritual solution with the potential to help millions of people at the time of their death. (At the time of writing this article the SSRF website is visited by more than 8 million people each year who will now have access to the mantras and how to use them). With 40-45% of people now opting for cremations in crematoriums in some developed countries like the US and Canada, a large proportion of subtle bodies can get benefit from such mantras in their journey in the afterlife. When He was saying this, I felt that His Resolve (sankalp) was behind this and that people who played the recorded mantras for their loved ones who had just passed away would definitely benefit. I left H.H. Dr Athavale’s room with a deep sense of gratitude; I felt only a Parātpar Guru could speak like this, to effect such kind of spiritual help to millions of subtle bodies who are beginning their journey in the afterlife.
Please note: The various mantras will soon be made available on the SSRF website. If you would like to be informed when they are uploaded – please subscribe to the new article alerts through the SSRF Live chat functionality.

I have a question in this regard, if you can help out. Three years back my mother passed away. I have twin younger brothers. The elder had to perform last rights. While he sat for the ceremonies initially, he was extremely acrimonious and rubbished the whole procedure. As making him sit for ceremonies and then the cremation was becoming increasingly difficult, we had them done by my other brother who was very attached to my mother as well.
In light of the above scenario, do you think her onward journey would have happened properly. If yes then its really good. If no, then what should be done? Also, my mother still comes on dreams of younger brother and he has normal daily conversations with her just like he did when she was alive. Seeking guidance
Kind regards

If your brother dreams of your mother very often, it’s cause is probably subtle. This may also be a sign of your mother suffering in her afterlife and she needs momentum.
Kindly refer to the article http://www.spiritualresearchfoundation.org/spiritual-problems/ancestral-spirits/dreams-departed-ancestors/ for more information regarding this.

To be spiritual is to be full of love
Very happy to see that H. H Dr. Athavale’s sankalp (resolve) is coming true &that many & many people are benefiting spiritually. Hope spirituality spreads far and wide and that the world starts practicing it.
So where are the mantras?
Dear Mike,
We presently do not know when those mantras will be shared exactly, because in today’s time things are changing and priorities of publishing articles as well. It will surely come.
Sincerely,
SSRF team
You don’t need a studio to record highly professional recordings. Been producing as a hobby for years, and have several friends who are professionals. You can do it with any decent PC or laptop and a microphone, along with nearly any DAW.
I’d be more than happy to help. You could even get someone to send me a written version of the mantras, along with a rough recording, and I would practice and chant them for you crystal clear.
In gratitude to pp dr and baba for the unconditional love
